Match Report

It was great to dust off the cobwebs and get back to playing football today.

There is so much for the boys to learn from and take away from a game like this, which is exactly what it was about.

Performance-wise, it took us around 20 minutes to settle into the game, find our rhythm and start playing our football. In the second half, I thought we really found our stride, producing some excellent football with creativity, movement and a real willingness to play both on and off the ball.

Although we came away with a defeat, it’s strange to say, but I felt we were by far the better footballing side. They had an advantage in speed and strength, and that year’s age gap is really showing.

Overall, I was really pleased with the boys and extremely excited to see how they continue to develop and grow into 11-a-side football. There are plenty of positives to take forward.
