🔵 The Blues Are Off and Running!

This pre-season friendly on Wednesday, 19th August 2026 marked the first-ever game for the newly formed Kingsmeadow United Blues — a completely rebuilt squad aiming to compete strongly in the Championship of the Surrey Youth League. And if tonight was anything to go by, we might just be onto something.

The match couldn’t have started any better. Vinnie opened the scoring after just two minutes, giving the Blues an early 1–0 lead. Before anyone had time to settle, Joseph added a second only a minute later. Three minutes played, 2–0 Blues — the perfect start.

The boys were full of confidence, moving the ball well and showing exactly what we’ve been working on: playing out from the back, moving the ball quickly and using the wings effectively. Their efforts were rewarded again in the 18th minute when Kayden made it 3–0. Three goals, three different scorers, all inside the first 20 minutes — the Blues were flying.

More importantly, the performance was about far more than the scoreline. As coaches, what pleased us most was seeing how the lads were trying to play. With new teammates, new combinations and plenty still to learn, there were already encouraging signs. The boys showed confidence on the ball, worked hard for each other and genuinely looked like a team. That doesn’t happen overnight, and tonight gave us a brilliant foundation to build on.

It was a night full of firsts: first game, first win, first clean sheet, first three goals and the first three Blues goalscorers. Not a bad opening chapter. There’s a long way to go, but tonight gave everyone a reason to be excited about what this group could become.

Looking ahead, we’ve got the Blues Summer BBQ on Sunday 30th August — a great chance for everyone to get together away from football and continue building the team spirit we’re already seeing. From Wednesday 2nd September, we’ll also be moving to our new training home at SportsBox Woking, with all details available through 360Player.
